For registering sample production. The routing and bill of materials belonging to the sample are put together by the person in charge — as with the quote builder, the operations and materials used need not be registered in the system beforehand.

Sample production sits between series production and development: it is not a series, but it consumes resources and material, and the customer is waiting for it. If that process runs outside the system, the production planner cannot see it, and sales cannot say when it will be ready.

The app records the sample request in Business Central with its own routing and bill of materials. The status — in preparation, awaiting scheduling, completed, shipped — is advanced automatically by the system as the work progresses.

From the sample requests scheduled into production, the app creates the production orders. These enter the Production plan app under the document number created here, and once the full quantity is finished the system sets the sample to "completed" by itself. Since the rollout the flow of information has improved, because everyone involved can reach the data they need.

• Production order creation

  From the sample requests scheduled into production, the app creates the production orders, which also enter the production plan.

• Documents for the sample

  Drawings and other related documents can be uploaded.
